If you were to come to the Chianti area this September, perhaps for the first time, you will not be disappointed by our land. Summer is still here even if some small refreshing wind begins to cheer the days, you can still pass a few hours in the pool with your favorite book and a good glass of Chianti, just as you can spend the day visiting one of the our splendid cities like Florence or Siena (but also the other splendid Tuscan cities that are absolutely worth seeing as Pisa or Lucca are less than two hours drive from Corte Di Valle), but also our small but wonderful towns of Chianti, from Castellina to Montefioralle, to our beloved Greve. The paths of the Chianti are innumerable, you can follow the art and therefore the museums, the churches, the historical traces of the life of our region, you can simply follow the nature trails, be swallowed up by the spoantaneous but also ordered beauty of our sweet hills , from the vast hills cultivated with the vineyard that are preparing just in these weeks to renew also for this year the “miracle” of our beloved wine.
The harvest is one of the fundamental moments in the life of our people: a moment of great work but also of great joy and reunion for families, an opportunity to gather together and celebrate once again the fruits of the earth and of women’s work and men. If you find yourself here you will encounter small and large village festivals, you will find yourself stopping for a walk in a small town and in its medieval center and you will find a party, a festival dedicated to the end of summer and the grape harvest, smiling faces, fun and smiles for everyone, locals and tourists . All in the name of simplicity, the desire to live and gratitude for this land, which requires so much work and effort but that gives us so much beauty.
There will be music, there will be good food and of course good wine, there will be stalls selling local craft products, cheeses, maybe some small ideas for gifts to take back with you, maybe there will be some musicians playing old local folk music or maybe some local bands, there will be children who run excited and happy.
Even if you have your itinerary of Chianti fully organized, don’t forget to leave some part dedicated to improvisation, to suggestion, to the present moment. You will not regret it.
